TILDA SWINTON AT PITTI IN FLORENCE: “CLOAKROOM”
It was a splendid evening that Olivier Saillard and the celebrity Tilda Swinton offered on a magical Florentine night. Raimondo Rossi, also known as Ray Morrison, met with Tilda for Milan Weekly after her performance, "Cloakroom."
We are in Florence, where Swinton is at the beginning of her collaboration with Olivier Saillard. In the performance, the soul and sensations felt by Swinton upon contact with the clothes are narrated spontaneously. She takes us into her unconscious world, which unfolds before our eyes, showing her instinctive reactions to the garments. The clothing pieces are provided by the few invited guests at the Teatro della Pergola. I also contributed my neoprene black jacket, which Tilda used during the performance.
Tilda stands behind an immense table where guests' garments are placed. She spontaneously smells, wraps herself in, rolls over, covers her face with, wears, or does anything instinctively with the garments as they speak to her. This entry into the Cloakroom universe adds a different facet to the Oscar-winning actress, famous worldwide. We invite everyone to follow the upcoming events around the world where Tilda will perform again. The few lucky invitees will witness a show they will remember for the rest of their lives.
**Ray:** "Hello dear, congratulations on the performance. As you noticed, the audience was extremely silent and intent on watching everything you did."
**Tilda:** "Thank you, Raimondo. Yes, it was very intense for me as well. Being able to experience these garments with so many senses is truly a wonderful feeling. As you saw, there is no predefined scheme."
**Ray:** "It was really beautiful when you took my neoprene piece and played with it in a way that reminded me of a dance. It was really lovely."
**Tilda:** "Thank you very much."
Raimondo continues, "Tell us about the new movie. Are you satisfied with it and happy about this new Oscar nomination?"
**Tilda:** "Yes, I appreciate it! But I have to say that I do not love the world of Hollywood and California. It's often a fake world, and even though a second nomination is nice, it's not something that’s going to change my life."
**Ray:** "Do you prefer to work in other environments then?"
**Tilda:** "Certainly, yes. As you know, I have my very specific spaces in my country, where my partner and I have built a very interesting reality. I must say that there, I feel truly comfortable and free to express myself 100% without any constraints."
**Ray:** "I wanted to wish you good luck with the new Oscar. Actually, I love LA, maybe because I grew up in the Italian countryside, a very quiet environment."
**Tilda:** "Yes, I understand, but Los Angeles has no strong connection with my heart. But today, today I felt all of you guys very close."
We kept talking and also enjoyed taking some photos together.
**Ray:** "Alright Tilda, I'll leave you to some colleagues, but you know, not before taking some photos together."
**Tilda:** "You want to take selfies? This is wonderful! I usually don't take many, but I really like the idea! Let's take a few."
So, we invite our readers to attend the new events with her, a towering, fascinating, and charismatic figure. Among the invitees and the audience, even though there were only about 50-60 of us in total, her figure shines with a light that has no equal. We do love you, Tilda, in every aspect of you.
